I didn´t get to colour my dry hair or cut it before the cruise. I can´t actually remember the last time I pampered myself at my sponsor Nikita Hair at Amfi Arena in Arendal – but I had to refresh the look before going on the trip of a lifetime and exposing it to scorching sun! Mom never does anything halfway, so when she booked a hair appointment in London for me, she booked it at a hair salon known for catering to celebrities like Janice Dickinson, members of royal families – and of course, us “normals” 😀
It was definitely an experience to remember, being there! Let me show you how it went when I visited Leticia Haute Coiffure in London, got taken care of by owner and hairstylist Pierre Doumit, for cut, colour – and hand-sewn (litterally) hair extensions!
Little did I know when I stopped in front of the hair salon and simply just had to take photos of this cute dog, that it was Jack, Pierres own dog, I think, and salon mascot, you could say! Jack was with me the entire 4 fours I was there! Well, he does just hang around waiting for the workday to finish 🙂 I was actually supposed to have a fellow countryman, as it turns out, as my stylist (from Romania), but somehow Pierre took care of me himself. We had a good dialogue going, I wanted him to recommend something that would suit me, I love trying different looks!
I had a p r e t t y visible difference between what was hairdye and my own haircolour, due to the fact that I hadn´t been to the hairdresser for several months. Pierre told me that he really liked my natural haircolour, which is a shade of brown. He recommended a chestnut shade, and told me that it would inevitably get lighter on the cruise because of the sun. For the haircut, I wanted to trim the edges and layer up the hair at the back, as I usually ask for since it can get pretty thick. For the front, I said maybe a fringe. I´ve had that before. But this time, Pierre recommended a layered frindge, swept to the right side, “because of the shape of your face, your eyes and eyebrows”. I completely trusted him and said Let´s go for it!
I wouldn´t be lying if I told you that I´ve been curious about hair extensions for a couple of years now. Clip-ons primarily, because I workout and shower every day (hair every every two, three days). Plus, clip-ons you can take out if you don´t want extensions some days, and use them on days you do want to do something extra with your hair. I told this to Pierre, and he gave me some crazy-high prices on what extensions can cost, even clip-ons! The better the quality of hair, the higher the price. I said that I wasn´t interested in paying a small fortune on hair, I wouldn´t even know if I liked wearing something “fake”. Then he showed me a set of blonde clip-ons that he had in the salon (usually, one has to order them before going to the hairdresser). He could die it the same colour I was to colour my hair, although he couldn´t guarantee that the colour would soak in the extensions, seeing that this would be the first time it got coloured and because it was “dead” hair. But he thought it could be a nice result nevertheless, similar to my own (new) haircolour. After a loooong time thinking, Pierre was practically finished cutting and colouring my hair, I gave him the “Go” to colour the extensions 😀 I just thought that it was now or never, I had been curious long enough about hairextensions.
Maan, did I put Pierre and Catalin to work, especially Pierre! Just look at the photos 🙂 This was extra special service!
Pierre even wrote me a text message to let me know that the hair was on its way: “Dear Christina, we will send you the hairextensions on Monday afternoon to your mums house. We apologise for the delay. Kindest regards Pierre the Hairdresser”.
Note: I was only wearing one row of extensions on the previous two pictures, the other two were not sown yet. When I will put those in as well, the hair will blend very beautifully together 🙂[separator type=”thick”]
Fun facts Leticia Haute Coiffure
Leticia prides itself on offering the quickest and best blow dry in London. Perfect for those with busy lives! I loved the result! I could never do this myself, even though Pierre was like “Sure you can, you do so and so…” 🙂 Nice try, I´ll do my best 🙂 Pierre has by the way received the Best Haircut Awards and Leticia Haute Coiffure was short listed for Best Hairdressing Salon at the London Lifestyle Awards in 2011 and 2012. The salon was also finalist for the Best Health and Beauty Facility at the London Lifestyle Awards in 2011 and 2012! That´s awesome!
Furthermore, Leticia Haute Coiffure is known for giving its clients a neck and shoulder massage. I of course got one, it was very good and a bit awkward, I must admit, at the same time. I felt pampered enough, relaxed enough from the head massage you get whilst shampooing, and from enjoying a cup of coffee. But I think VERY many others would enjoy having a massage whilst at the hairdressers! Just have a look what others have written as reviews of their experience at the salon.

I would like to thank Pierre very much for his great service! Imagine that my little head demanded so much of your time! I appreciated and liked hearing your advice about what hairstyle and colour would suit me. Thank you for providing hairextensions at such a short notice. You saw how sceptical I was whether or not I should get the extensions and about whether or not I suited them even after you colouring and blow drying them. They took time to get accustomed to. But I do love having them! I look forward to using all of them. I´ll take a picture with a full head of hair soon and show you! 😀 I also like the cut and colour, and yes, please send me the colour code like you proposed 🙂
For those of you wondering, the cut, colour, blow dry and “custom made” hairextensions came in at about 200 british pounds all together.
PS: This is not a sponsored or paid post or treatment. I had my camera with me to Leticia and my mom was kind enough to take some photos. I wanted to write a blog post about the visit, because it was a memorable experience, which I wanted to share with you, as a tip 🙂
