It has been incredibly exciting to follow the WTA and ATP players who participated in this year’s Liverpool Hope International play at Wimbledon!
Pablo Andújar made it up to the third round, where he made a good figure against the world number six Thomas Berdych – but unfortunately lost the match. Andújar faced Berdych after playing two rounds of this year’s Wimbledon, both matches going to five sets.

We have followed closely Liverpool International 2015 winner Aljaz Bedene from the UK go up until the second round of Wimbledon, and Damir Dzumhur who participated for the first time at Wimbledon. Not only hits, but his first match was on Centre Court – and “unfortunately” pulled Damir his tennis idol Roger Federer as an opponent in the first round.
Several tennis stars went straight from Liverpool International to Wimbledon, including Romanian Elena Bogdan, while tennis legends Richard Krajicek, Jeremy Bates and Mansour Bahrami participated in Senior Invitation Doubles.[separator type=”thin”] [title maintitle=”Liverpool International 2015″ subtitle=”PRIVATE IPHONE PHOTOS”]
As PR and communications manager for the tournament my main tasks were to keep all communication regarding match scores updated “in real time” , describing the matches, the atmosphere, writing press releases, writing daily summaries, communicate with media and followers on social media. I did this from the ” press room ” at Liverpool Cricket Club .
But – in order to be able to do my job, I had to also be out on the court and see the action 🙂 I was careful to run out of the press room as soon as all platforms were updated with one match, to catch the essence of the next one. In between matches I snapped these photos. I think they say a little about how close up to the players you come as a spectator – and a little about the mood, the world class action.
